Visitation Information

The biggest challenge to face all of us this past year has undoubtedly been the COVID-19 pandemic. It has affected our daily lives, and for Alderson’s Convalescent Hospital, it has impacted our normal operations, including in-person visiting.

It is not lost on us that families and friends have not been able to see their loved ones face-to-face since last year. Reopening for in-person visiting while still protecting your loved ones from COVID-19 has been and continues to be a top priority for us.

Based on the recommendations of the California and Yolo County Departments of Public Health, we have opened in-room visitation to all fully vaccinated residents and visitors. If it has been greater than 2 weeks since your second vaccine injection (or your first injection if you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine), you are considered fully vaccinated. If it has been less than 2 weeks since your last injection, you are considered partially vaccinated. Fully vaccinated visitors of fully vaccinated residents can visit at the resident’s bedside without the need for social distance. These visits can happen within our visitation hours which are 9 AM to 8 PM. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice before you arrive as we need to prepare the resident, the roommate, and the room for visitation. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors must still schedule a time to come visit through our Activities Department. Visits by unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals will require social distancing and must be monitored to ensure compliance with good infection control practices. If you are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitor and arrive without an appointment, you will not be permitted to visit the resident.

All visitors, regardless of their vaccination status, must be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, wear a surgical facemask that covers their nose and mouth at all times, and perform hand hygiene upon entry to the facility. If you do not have a surgical facemask, one will be provided for you. You will also be asked to provide proof of vaccination.

Anyone arriving more than 15 minutes after their scheduled appointment time will have to reschedule their visit for another day.

There will be a maximum of 2 visitors allowed per resident at any one time.

It is very important that you notify Alderson immediately if you or anyone in your household develops signs and symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days following your visit or if you have had contact with anyone who has had COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
